Ariadne asks: I'm preparing a mailing: it looks good on my Mac, but on a PC a row in the layout is too wide. Any ideas?
The newsletter you send is rendered by the software the recipient is using. And unfortunately, not all email applications are equally good at it.
In fact, the same problem exists with web browsers. At PhotoDeck, it's not uncommon for us to have to implement the same thing in different ways, to make sure it works well with all browsers (and like most web designers, we officially hate Internet Explorer, even though we fully support it).
The good news is that the differences only show on complex layouts (e.g. tables with multiple columns).
Sending rich newsletters to your clients is a great idea, and the Mailings facility in PhotoDeck makes it easy - just remember to keep the layout simple (single column)!
